Ramadan Goals

For a long time now, I feel like I have had this huge dip in my Imaan and I thought with Ramadan around the corner I'm going to reconnect and work really hard at maintaining it. Well, Ramadan is now half over and I still haven't done anything at all! Nothing disappoints you like knowing that all your bad habits are actually you and not Shaitaan. I can come up with a million excuses as to why I haven't had the time or energy, but ultimately that helps no one. Instead, I came up with a few easy things we can do, so here it goes!
Set Attainable Goals:
Start off with having short term goals, and as soon as you achieve one you'll feel more motivated for the rest. They don't even have to be big goals to begin with, even small daily goals will help to start out! As you see and feel that you're achieving the goals you set for yourself you'll want to keep up the streak and do more and more!
Take Some Time Out:
Keep a certain time daily for doing some good deed, whether it's hearing a lecture or reading Quran or anything else. It will help create a routine for you by blocking off the same time daily. Once you develop a routine, it's much easier to follow through and continue it even after Ramadan.
Have a Buddy:
Ask a friend or someone from your family to do something with you. When you have someone with you, you're more motivated to do it and when you're not exactly in the mood to do it, you'll still have someone asking you to do it and reminding you so that automatically will make it easier! I used to do a mini class with my brother and cousins where we would try and learn duas or surahs. It actually ended up being a lot of fun!
So, here are the small things I plan on starting to end Ramadan on a high note! Let me know what you guys do to stay motivated!
